Registration open for 22nd Annual Kitsap County
Human Rights Council
(Kitsap County, WA) Registration is now open for
the 22nd Annual Kitsap County Human Rights Conference. The 2012 conference,
presented by the Kitsap County Council for Human Rights, takes place 8
a.m.-3 p.m. Dec. 7 in the Kitsap Conference Center of Bremerton. The focus
this year is “The Forgotten War: Economics and Social Justice!” Guest
speakers will include Richard LeMeiux, Ed Cable, Living Voices and many
more. Breakout sessions will focus on microfinancing, the law and a special
dialogue on an “Edible Democracy” with the Puget Sound Edible Democracy
Project.
Nominations are also being taken now through November 15 for the 2012 Wall
of Fame Awards which recognize individuals, groups and organizations in
Kitsap County communities who have made significant contributions to human
rights efforts. Awards are announced during the human rights conference.
