New members sought for County advisory councils

(Port Orchard, WA) - Kitsap County residents have the opportunity to participate in and promote effective, efficient county service as volunteers serving on advisory boards, councils and commissions. Boards and councils serve as bridges of communication between citizens and Kitsap County Government.

The Kitsap County Board of Commissioners is now accepting applications for vacancies on county councils and advisory boards, including the following: the Council for Human Rights, the Noxious Weed Control Board, the Animal Control Advisory Board, the Area Agency on Aging Advisory Council, the Commission on Children and Youth, the Southworth Ferry Advisory Committee, the Food & Farm Policy Council, the Veterans Advisory Board and the Substance Abuse Advisory Board. There are also currently openings on the Central Kitsap, Suquamish and Manchester community advisory councils.
