FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Input on transportation issues the focus of Central
Kitsap Council meeting (Port Orchard, WA) - This month, the Central Kitsap Community Council meeting will focus on transportation issues. Because of the traffic challenges associated with the roundabout construction at the corner of Newberry Hill Road and Chico Way, the council wants to give Chico-area residents an opportunity to speak with county representatives about transportation concerns at its monthly meeting to be held at 7 p.m. Sept. 19 at Christ the King Lutheran Church located at the intersection of Newberry Hill Road and Chico Way. Tina Nelson, Kitsap County Public Works Senior Program Manager, will bring the community up to date on the roundabout project and the county’s work to replace the Bucklin Hill bridge. Information also will be available on improvements to the signals at Ridgetop Boulevard. The public is invited to join in the discussion about these projects. Jon Brand, assistant director of Kitsap County Public Works, will speak about the Transportation Improvement Plan in Central Kitsap and there will be discussion about long-term transportation programs.
