22nd Annual Older Americans Conference set for May 8
(Port Orchard, WA) -
Mark you calendar now for the 22nd Annual Older Americans Month Conference
May 8, 2013 at the Kiana Lodge (14976 NE Sandy Hook Road) in Poulsbo. This
year’s theme is ”Unleash the Power of Age.” The annual event offers guest
speakers, exhibits, entertainment and information on local programs
available to older residents of Kitsap County.
The event is free,
but space is limited.

360-337-7068. Doors open at 9:00 a.m. The event concludes at 2:30
p.m. Registration includes a catered box lunch provided by Kiana Lodge.
This year’s special guest speaker is Pepper Schwartz. Dr. Schwartz is an
American sociologist teaching at the University of Washington. She is
the author and co-author of numerous books and magazines, including her
newest book “The Normal Bar.” She will speak on “The Power of Profound
Relationships” and discuss the power of aging and the centrality of
relationships. Following her talk, Pepper will sign copies of her new
book, available for purchase at the event. The Foggy Bottom Jazz Band
performs during the luncheon.
