Professional Rain Garden Workshop set for October 17 & 18
Popular workshop for landscape and building professionals held by WSU Kitsap Extension

(Kitsap County, WA) The 2013 Professional Rain Garden Workshop is a two day workshop for green industry professionals covering the design and installation of Rain Gardens. The workshop covers a wide range of topics including benefits, regulations, site analysis, hydrologic modeling, materials specifications, maintenance and special attention to how to market these Low Impact Development (LID) features to your clients.

The class is available for total of 11 (Certified Professional Horticulturist) CPH and (Certified Landscape Technician) CLT credits and presented by WSU Kitsap Extension. A database of businesses that complete the training is provided to homeowners and small business owners in Kitsap County who are seeking to hire professional firms for Rain Garden projects and can be accessed online at Garden Workshop.aspx.

Our lineup of speakers features expert researchers in the field of Low Impact Development (LID), experienced landscape professionals, representatives from local agencies and others to answer all your questions on rain gardens, including those on local regulations and permitting requirements. Learn about rain gardens from leaders in the industry and network with other business owners interested in being part of the new wave of contractors skilled in LID design and installation.

The workshop takes place on Thursday and Friday, October 17th and 18th. The program runs 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. both days. The workshop will be in Bremerton at a location still to be determined. Early registration, by September 3rd, is $60 per day/$100 for both days. Regular registration (after September 3rd) is $85 per day/$150 for both days.
