Hansville public meeting to review Point No Point
parking lot project
The community will have an opportunity to learn more about the upcoming
parking lot improvement project at Point No Point County Park during a
public meeting at 6 p.m. Wednesday, February 26 in the Hansville Community
Center, 6778 Buck Lake Road NE, Hansville.
Kitsap County Parks staff and consultants will discuss the parking lot
retrofit design, construction timeline and location of temporary parking
during construction, set to begin in April and extend through May or early
June. Point No Point County Park will remain open during the project.
The existing gravel parking lot will have improved stormwater drainage and
parking when it is graded and resurfaced with permeable concrete pavers that
allow stormwater to pass through and infiltrate into the ground. As the
stormwater passes through gravel between and beneath the pavers, pollutants
are filtered out and prevented from flowing into Puget Sound. Blackberries
lining the south end of the parking lot as a wetland buffer will be removed
and replanted with native species.
