Treecycling begins December 26

(Port Orchard, WA) - Give your tree a new life by recycling it. Trees are chipped into mulch or compost, which can be returned to the earth as a soil amendment. The countywide treecycling program begins December 26 and runs through January 15.

Waste Management and Bainbridge Disposal customers who subscribe to curbside yard waste collection can recycle their trees by cutting them up enough to fit in their carts.

Residents are reminded to remove all nails, wire, tinsel, lights, and ornaments before recycling their tree. Flocked trees cannot be accepted because they are potentially harmful to the environment and should be disposed as garbage. Also, please do not bring wreaths or garland.
