Kitsap County Auditor hires Kyle Joyce as Elections Division Manager

(Port Orchard, WA) - Newly hired Kitsap County Elections Division Manager Kyle Joyce is excited about the opportunity to serve the public in the area where he grew up.

Born and raised in Kitsap County, Joyce graduated from South Kitsap High School in 1994. He joins Kitsap County after more than six years with the City of Seattle, where he served in a variety of management and special project roles with the Facilities Operations Division.

He has a Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from Seattle University School of Law, a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Washington with a major in political science and a minor in architecture.

“I am thrilled for Kyle to lead our elections team,” Kitsap County Auditor Dolores Gilmore said. “His management experience with the City of Seattle, coupled with his background in law make him an ideal fit for this position.”

Joyce replaces Gilmore who was elected Kitsap County Auditor in November 2014. She was hired to manage the Elections Division in 1994, under Auditor Karen Flynn.

“This is a unique opportunity to serve under the Auditor who led this highly respected division for so many years,” Joyce said. “I come into this position with fresh eyes and a lot of respect for the successful group that is in place.”

The Elections Division Manager is responsible for the administration of Kitsap’s voter registration and elections services to more than 150,000 area voters. The staff is comprised of seven full-time employees and up to 40 additional seasonal workers during Primary and General Elections.

Joyce resides in South Kitsap with his wife Ryen, and two young sons Nathan and Erik.
