Hansville meeting May 27 to review Transportation Improvement Program

(Port Orchard, WA) - The Kitsap County Transportation Improvement Program (TIP), a six-year implementation plan for projected road and transportation improvement projects, including non-motorized facilities, will be presented to the public from 7-8:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 27 at the Hansville Community Center, 6778 Buck Lake Road NE, Hansville. The public is welcome and encouraged to attend and join in a discussion with county staff and residents about the program and ideas for new transportation-related projects that benefit the community.

The TIP uses an evaluation system for the selection and prioritization of funding county transportation projects. Proposed projects submitted through the program are scored and ranked using objective criteria including safety and capacity needs, structural condition, and the availability and timing of funding, especially those for state and federally funded programs.

Kitsap County Public Works staff will review the TIP, provide information on how to submit project proposals, and discuss how projects are evaluated, selected and prioritized.
