Run to Tahoma memorial dedicated July 8

(Port Orchard, WA)   Join the Kitsap County Veterans Advisory Board, County Commissioners, veterans service organizations, guests, and the public on July 8 for the dedication of The Unforgotten, Run to Tahoma Memorial.

The program will begin at 6 p.m. in the Commissioners’ Chambers of the County Administration Building, located at 619 Division Street, Port Orchard. A video of the 2015 The Unforgotten, Run to Tahoma VI will be shown, followed by the presentation of campaign streamers to veterans service organizations and the dedication. The memorial is permanently located on the fourth floor of the Administration Building.

The Unforgotten, Run to Tahoma began in 2008 when a small group of stakeholders received the remains of unclaimed veterans in the care of the Kitsap County Coroner, and escorted the remains to the Tahoma National Cemetery for interment. As long as there is at least one unclaimed veteran's remains, The Unforgotten, Run to Tahoma will take place to honor and remember them.
