County seeks to amend code on how land is addressed

(Port Orchard, WA) - Kitsap County's Department of Community Development is seeking to amend County Code 16.66 (Addressing of Land) in an effort to clarify and define a quality address and road name standards, This is in response to the implementation of Next Generation 911 (NG911) in 2017 and improve the ability to find homes and businesses in a reasonably uniform manner.

As part of the process two public meetings are scheduled before the Kitsap Planning Commission.

The proposed changes to the code can be reviewed online at

Upon completion of their findings of fact and recommendations, the proposed code change is submitted to the Board of County Commissioners for another public hearing and deliberations before approving or denying the proposed changes. Those dates have not been established at this time.
