Be fire-safe this winter!

(Port Orchard, WA) - Winter holidays and cold weather often combine to create unique fire hazards. The Kitsap County Fire Marshal’s Office is encouraging fire-safe precautions this winter.

“Candles, cooking and the improper use of heating equipment continue to be one of the main causes of winter fires,” according to Daviid Lynam, Kitsap County Fire Marshal. "We've seen the number of fires with these causes double from last year within the unincorporated Kitsap County area,” Lynam added.
