Open House for residents to preview Public Works projects in Silverdale

 (Silverdale, WA) - Silverdale area residents are invited to an Open House on Thursday, February 18th to preview three scheduled Public Works projects for 2017.

  • The Silverdale Way project is in the early stages of design and the project limits are from approximately 350 feet south of Byron Street, then north up to Anderson Hill Road. Improvements will consist of road widening, traffic safety improvements, sewer capacity upgrades, upgrading stormwater facilities, and installing sidewalks, planter strips, and bicycle lanes. Construction of this project is tentatively scheduled to begin in the spring of 2017.
  • The Bay Shore Drive project limits are south from Bucklin Hill Road, continuing south on Washington Avenue to the waterfront park. Design is approximately 60% complete. Improvements will consist of increased sewer capacity, upgrading the stormwater facilities, and installing sidewalks and lighting. Construction is scheduled to begin spring of 2017.
  • The Sewer Pump Station 3 project is located at the waterfront park off of Washington Avenue and design will begin design in 2017. Improvements to the station will increase capacity and replace outdated equipment and controls.

The Open House is scheduled for Thursday, February 18, 2016 from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. in the Jenne Wright Administration Building Gymnasium, 9210 Silverdale Way NW, Silverdale.

These three projects will set the tone for future roadway improvements along Silverdale Way as well as incorporate some necessary water quality and pedestrian improvements in Old Town Silverdale. County staff looks forward to meeting residents, discussing design plans, and receiving comments.
