NW
Wildcat Creek Road
Culvert Replacement Project (CRP 3648)
This project replaces a significantly deteriorated culvert on NW Wildcat
Lake Road south of Nikomis Lane with a
23-foot wide concrete structure. The Washington State Department of Fish
and Wildlife and the Suquamish Tribe have identified this culvert as the
4th most significant
fish-passage barrier in Kitsap County.
The culvert is located at the outlet of Wildcat Lake, which has several
high quality streams. Replacing failing and small culverts opens up
streams for fish passage and at the same time improves the roads and
stormwater system. Removing this culvert will be a significant first
step in restoring Wildcat Creek and its headwater tributary streams.
Construction is expected to take place from August 6 through late
September 2012.
At the culvert, Wildcat Lake Road will be closed to all
through traffic from approximately August 1 through September 30.
Please follow the detour route (click here to view map) around Wildcat
Lake Road. We apologize for any inconveniences this may cause. If
construction is completed early, we will open the road.
