Yellow Left Turn Display
Have you ever sat in a left turn pocket waiting for the green arrow
while traffic on both sides of you has green lights with no oncoming
traffic to prevent you from turning if you had the green arrow? Kitsap
County is using a new flashing yellow left turn signal designed to
alleviate that problem.
At some intersections you will see a flashing yellow left-turn arrow.
This signal indicates that after yielding to
oncoming traffic you may proceed with the left turn movement.
Be sure to use care and caution as oncoming traffic has the
right-of-way. If traffic volumes are high enough, and there is not
sufficient space to make the restricted turn under the flashing yellow
arrow, the solid green permissive arrow for the turn will eventually
come.
