Transportation Planning

Vision:  Plan for and provide an efficient, flexible, and coordinated multi-modal transportation system – including roads, bridges and highways, ferries, transit, and non-motorized travel – that provide interconnectivity and mobility for county residents and supports our urban and rural land use pattern.

Mission:  To fully implement the mandates of the Washington State Growth Management Act under RCW 36.70A.070 (6), the transportation element, to include:

• Monitor existing conditions
• Develop and maintain level of service standards
• Transportation Improvement Program (TIP)
• Travel demand forecasting
• Financial Sources
• Intergovernmental coordination
• Bicycle and pedestrian planning
• Travel demand management
• Concurrency
