Free Yard Waste Amnesty Day at North Mason Fiber Company

(Port Orchard) — Kitsap and Mason County residents may bring yard waste to the Yard Waste Amnesty Day at North Mason Fiber Company on May 20, 2006. There will be no fees charged for this event.

Where:  North Mason Fiber Company NE 431 Log Yard Road, Belfair 
              (just east of the railroad trestle on Highway 3) 

When:  Saturday, May 20th, 8 am – 4 pm 

Cost:  Free

There is no volume restriction for homeowners. Yard waste will not be accepted from businesses, landscapers, or commercial haulers regardless of whether it was generated at households.

  Materials accepted:
     • grass clippings
     • woody debris
     • clean lumber   
     • leaves 
     • branches 
     • stumps 
     • brush 

  Materials not accepted: 
     • creosote treated lumber 
     • railroad ties 
     • garbage, plastics 
     • tires
     • scrap metal 
     • household hazardous waste
     • painted lumber 

–Remember to cover and secure your load.
–Drop box facilities will not accept yard waste for free.

This program is part of an ongoing effort by Kitsap County Public Works to provide recycling alternatives to outdoor burning. The public may recycle their yard waste at North Mason Fiber Company year round seven days a week. Call 360-275-0228 for hours and fees.
