Holiday Closures for Garbage, Recycling, and Household Hazardous Waste Drop-off

(Port Orchard) – The holidays will cause several changes to garbage pick-up schedules, drop-off recycling, and household hazardous waste drop-off collection.

The Kitsap County Household Hazardous Waste (HHW) Collection Facility closes December 27 for heavy facility maintenance and reopens January 3. 

The recycling and garbage facilities at Bainbridge Island, Silverdale, Hansville, Poulsbo, and Olalla are closed Christmas and New Year’s Day. Additionally, all of the facilities close at 1 pm on December 24 and 2 pm December 31, except Bainbridge Island, which is closed on Mondays.

The Olympic View Transfer Station is closed Christmas and New Year’s Day.  This facility will close at 1 pm on December 24 and 2 pm December 31.

Waste Management and Bainbridge Disposal will not provide service on Christmas or New Year’s Day. Their Tuesday pick-ups are on Wednesday, and Wednesday pick-ups are on Thursday. The City of Poulsbo garbage pick-ups will continue on their regular schedule throughout the holidays.
