Judge M. Karlynn Haberly

Judge Haberly graduated from the University of Washington with a Bachelor of Arts degree.  She earned her J.D. from University of Puget Sound School of Law.   Judge Haberly practiced law for 14 years.  She served as a judge pro tem in both District and Superior Courts and as the Kitsap County Hearings Examiner prior to her appointment to the Kitsap County bench.

Judge Haberly was appointed to the Kitsap County Superior Court Bench in January 1993 and has been re-elected to subsequent terms.  Judge Haberly was instrumental in implementing the Family Dependency Drug Court Program and currently presides over it.  The Family Dependency Drug Court targets parents who risk losing their children because of abuse or negligence caused by substance abuse.  

Judge Haberly has served on several community agency boards, including the United Way,  YMCA, and YWCA.  She was the recipient of the YWCA Woman of Achievement Award in 1999.
