LCR 1 LOCAL ADMINISTRATIVE RULES

(1) PRESIDING JUDGE AND ASSISTANT PRESIDING JUDGE. The Judges shall elect a presiding judge and an assistant presiding judge by majority vote at a Judges' meeting. The term of a presiding judge shall be two years and begin on January 1. The presiding judge and assistant presiding judge shall perform all duties of the position required by General Rule 29. Vacancies in the office of presiding judge or assistant presiding judge shall be filled by majority vote of the Judges at the first Judges' meeting held after the vacancy is known to exist.

(2) EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE. The judges of the Superior Court, sitting as a whole as an executive committee, shall advise and assist the presiding judge in the administration of the court.

(3) ASSIGNMENTS. Judges shall be appointed to manage administrative and policy matters relating to specific areas.

     (a) A presiding domestic relations judge shall be appointed to manage administrative and policy matters relating to domestic relations cases.

     (b) A Juvenile Court Committee shall manage administrative and policy issues relating to juvenile matters. A member of the committee shall be designated Juvenile Court Judge.

     (c) The Criminal Motions Judge(s) shall manage administrative and policy matters relating to criminal cases.

     (d) Any Superior Court judge may be designated to manage any of the duties set forth above.
