Maintenance Waste Processing FacilityKitsap County’s Maintenance Waste Processing Facility has been operational since 1999. The facility provides County maintenance personnel and private contractors the ability to manage drainage system maintenance wastes in accordance with Washington State Department of Ecology (WSDOE) and Kitsap County Health District (KCHD) guidelines. Waste liquids are processed through the Central Kitsap Wastewater Treatment Plant, and solids are typically transported to the Olympic View Transfer Station. Disposal options for solids are based on the level of contamination.
While most of the business for the Maintenance Waste Processing Facility comes from County trucks cleaning County-maintained facilities, this facility is also available for use by commercial operators of eductor trucks that clean stormwater systems serving residential and commercial properties within unincorporated Kitsap County. Commercial operators can also bring waste from stormwater
systems serving properties within the city limits of Port Orchard,
Bainbridge Island, Bremerton, and Poulsbo for a fee. Kitsap County Public Works |
