Yard Waste Amnesty Day

September 28

Residents may bring yard waste for free disposal to Emu Composting Facility from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm on Sunday, September 28, 2008.

7890 Ecology Road
(between Kingston and Hansville) off the Hansville Highway

There is no volume restriction for homeowners.  Commercial  businesses and  landscapers or commercial haulers will be charged at normal rate. 

Materials accepted:
  • woody debris
  • stumps & branches
  • brush
  • grass
  • lumber:  plywood, OSB,
    and painted wood okay

 

Materials not accepted:
  • pre-treated lumber
  • railroad ties
  • garbage and plastics
  • tires
  • scrap metal
  • household hazardous waste

Remember to secure and cover your load.

Recycling and garbage facilities will not accept yard waste for free.

This program is an ongoing effort by Kitsap County Public Works to provide recycling alternatives to outdoor burning.  The public may recycle their yard waste at Emu's Composting Facility, year round Monday through Sunday.  Call 360-638-0117 for hours and fees.
