Liquid fertilizers, pesticides and herbicides should be taken to the Household Hazardous Waste Facility for free and safe disposal.
Solid yard products with pesticides, herbicides, and nitrates that are "oxidizers" should also go to the Household Hazardous Waste Facility. These include "weed and feed", "rose dust", diazinon, and 2, 4-D, among others.
Non pesticide/herbicide plant foods and fertilizers with nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium can be thrown in the garbage.
