Waste Reduction Tips for Businesses

Donating Food
Out of code or unsold produce, bakery, meat, dairy, and dry foods may be donated to a food bank, soup kitchen or animal feeding.  Concerned about liability?   Businesses donating food in good faith are protected from liability by Washington State Law.

Before you donate food items, learn food donation guidelines from the Washington State Department of Health and call ahead to see what each
food bank or soup line accepts. Click here to view Donating Surplus Food to the Needy, a tip sheet developed by the United States Environmental Protection Agency.
