COP (Citizens On Patrol) Volunteers

COP volunteers interact with the community and are dedicated to helping others. Their duties are to educate the public and enforce handicapped parking regulations, help with boat inspections, conduct security/vacation checks on homes and to be the eyes and ears of law enforcement. 

Volunteers are also trained to assist with traffic control, mark and process abandoned vehicles on county right-of-way, and perform junk vehicle VIN inspections. 

Volunteers must be able to pass an extensive a criminal history background check including a polygraph exam and commit to a minimum of 16 hours per month and two-hour monthly training sessions and meetings for at least a year. See the detailed Position Description below.
