Kitsap County Mental Health Advisory Committee Members Needed

The Board of Commissioners is accepting applications for a new 11-member citizens' committee to advise and make recommendations regarding mental health, chemical dependency and therapeutic court service needs that may be funded by a proposed sales tax. The committee will meet monthly beginning in August 2013 with subcommittees meeting more often as needed.

The Citizen Advisory Committee will be comprised of 11 members:

One from the Peninsula Regional Support Network Advisory Board

One from the Kitsap County Substance Abuse Advisory Board

One from the Commission on Children and Youth

One from the Area Agency on Aging

 One from Law and Justice

 One from Education

 Five At-Large Representatives

Eligibility: During the program funding selection process, committee members must not be engaged in any activity - including participation in the selection, award, or administration of a sub-grant or contract - supported by the Treatment Sales Tax funds if a conflict of interest, real or apparent, exists. Such a conflict would arise when: 1) the individual, 2) any member of the individual’s immediate family, 3) the individual’s partner, or 4) an organization which employs, or is about to employ, any of the above, has a financial or other interest in the firm or organization selected for award.

Applications will be accepted until the positions are filled. Those interested are encouraged to apply as soon as possible.
