Victim/Witness Assistant

This internship provides administrative assistance to the Victim Witness Coordinator in the Kitsap County Prosecutors Office. Assist staff in dealing with restitution issues by pulling restitution calendars, reviewing cases for restitution, preparing restitution orders, contacting victims and providing them with resource information, scheduling court dates and attending court. The intern will also assist with property dispositions, computer data entry and routine filing. Must be able to maintain confidentiality in all work. The intern should have good organizational skills and knowledge of alpha and numerical filing systems. Must be physically able to bend, stoop, kneel and reach to remove and replace files. Must be timely, reliable and stay on task. Must be able to pass a criminal history background check. The ability to type 40 words per minute and some knowledge of Microsoft Word is desirable.
