New Bremerton Vote Center to Open on February Election Day

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

January 21, 20200

PORT ORCHARD – Kitsap County voters will have another Election Day vote center available this year, beginning with the Feb. 11, 2020, Special Election.

Ballots will be mailed by Friday for voters within the Bremerton School District and North Mason School District boundaries.

The Kitsap County Auditor’s Office has established a New Vote Center at the Marvin Williams Recreation Center, located at 725 Park Avenue, Bremerton. This Vote Center will be opening at 7 a.m. on Election Day to serve voters requiring elections services and those who want to vote in a dedicated polling place.

“We’ve had vote centers in South Kitsap and North Kitsap ever since the county went to all vote-by-mail elections,” said Paul Andrews, Kitsap County Auditor. “With the addition of same-day voter registration and anticipating a busy election year, the time is right to add a new site.”

Five drop boxes will be open for this election as well as our Port Orchard Vote Center located at the County Administration building at 619 Division Street. Voters can find the drop box closest to them by going to kcowa.us/vote.

Voters can use the vote centers to register to vote, update an address and get replacement ballots. Voters with disabilities can use a dedicated Accessible Voting Unit and voters who like the experience of going to a polling station can visit the site from 7 a.m. – 8 p.m. on Election Day. Every service available in the Elections Division of the Auditor’s Office is available at each vote center.

All three vote centers will be open for the Presidential Primary on March 10. If there is a Special Election in April, vote center locations will be based on where ballot measures are taking place.

For the Primary in August and the General Election in November, the vote centers will be open on the Saturday and Monday before the elections, as well as on Election Day.

Ballots for the Presidential Primary will also be mailed Friday to military and overseas voters and Feb. 21 to the rest of the county’s voters.
