Waste disposal and recycling facilities

Service updates starting Friday, May 8

Kitsap County Solid Waste Division is adjusting services at county waste disposal and recycling facilities starting Friday, May 8. For complete information, visit the waste facility webpage: kcowa.us/dropoff

Safely using waste facilities

Kitsap County's Solid Waste Division urges customers to postpone non-essential trips to county waste facilities while Gov. Inslee's "Stay Home, Stay Healthy" order is in effect.

Customers making essential visits should expect lines and possible service interruptions. We may close facilities or adjust services without notice if staff have safety concerns.

We ask customers to:

  • Visit the facility webpage before you visit to check for updates.

  • Remain at least 6 feet away from other customers and employees.

  • Consider wearing a protective face covering.

  • Bring your own hand sanitizer.

  • Only 1 person out of vehicle at a time.

  • Do not visit our facilities if anyone in the household is sick or exhibiting symptoms of COVID-19.

  • Be prepared to unload quickly and safely. Wear closed toe shoes and gloves. Prepare your load so you can unload it quickly.

  • Follow signs.

  • Be kind.

Our staff will:

  • Distance from each other and from customers as much as possible.

  • Wear protective face coverings.

  • Sanitize common areas.

  • Meter vehicles and customers to allow for distancing.

  • Not answer phones so they can focus on safety. Customers with questions should contact Kitsap1 at 360-337-5777 Monday-Friday, 8 am - 4:30 pm or submit an "ask a question" form.

Future updates

In the future we will send email/text updates about waste facilities only to the Recycling and Garbage News topic. If you want to keep receiving email/text updates about Kitsap County waste facilities, make sure you're subscribed to this topic.
