EEO Policy

The County is an equal opportunity employer and complies with federal, state and local laws and regulations prohibiting discrimination in employment based upon race, religion, religious affiliation, creed, national origin, ancestry, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, age, marital status, veteran or military status, or the presence of a sensory, mental or physical disability, or the use of a trained guide dog or service animal by a disabled person.

This policy extends to all areas of employment and to all relations with employees including:

Benefits, compensation, demotion, discipline, layoff, recruitment and selection, termination, testing, training, working conditions

EEO Complaint and Resolution

Employees who believe they have received or witnessed treatment in violation of the County's non-discrimination policy must immediately notify one of the following individuals of the alleged action:

  • Supervisor

  • Manager

  • Department Director

  • Elected Official who oversees the department or office

  • Kitsap County Human Resources Analyst for your department/office

  • Kitsap County's Human Resources Director

  • To assist us in obtaining information regarding the alleged action, please complete the EEO Complaint Intake Form below. Reports of such action must be made as soon as possible, but in any case, not more than 90 calendar days from the date of the incident.

    After receipt and review of the alleged action information, the appropriate process will be determined which includes investigation and complaint resolution.

Disability Accommodation

Kitsap County is committed to providing equal employment opportunities for qualified individuals with disabilities.  Individuals with disabilities have the right to request a reasonable accommodation when applying for employment and during employment.

Applicants are asked to please notify the Kitsap County Human Resources of the accommodation needed, preferably at the time of application, but at least two days prior to the date needed. Human Resources can be contacted at
