Kitsap County Arts Board

The Kitsap County Arts Board has opted to go on a temporary hiatus until Capital Projects within the County pick up,

specifically within the Real Estate Excise Tax (REET) fund. This is anticipated through 2020.

Who We Are

The Kitsap County Arts Board was formed by the Board of County Commissioners on August 20th, 2001 when the Arts Board Ordinance was adopted. The board was established to administer the 1% for Art Program.  The Arts Board consists of nine citizen volunteers, three from each of the three districts. They are appointed by the Commissioner of the district they reside in and represent.

Our Mission

The Arts Board's mission is to promote excellence, access, education and diversity in the arts, in order to improve the quality of life for all Kitsap residents.

Promoting Arts and Economic Vitality

The Arts Board promotes and encourages private and public programs to further the development and public interest in arts and culture. Their programs seek to increase employment opportunities in the arts and to encourage the integration of art into County properties contributing to the economic vitality of our community at large.
