Cities

Mayors, municipal court judges and city council members are elected in odd-numbered years. They are elected to 4-year terms, unless they are filling the remainder of a term or a vacancy, or if the council position is a 2-year position. All races are nonpartisan. Those elected begin their service during the first meeting in the new year after the election is certified, unless their are elected to the remainder of an unexpired term, in which case they begin their service in the first meeting after the election is certified.
