Announcements

The Kitsap County Sheriff's Office Civil Division is committed to providing timely service to our citizens who need or request our assistance with civil process. However, our primary responsibility and priority is to serve those court documents that are directly required to be served by the Kitsap County Sheriff's Office which include Orders of Protection, Writs of Restitution, Writs of Execution, Orders of Sale, Criminal Subpoenas, etc.

Due to a temporary manpower shortage and the volume of miscellaneous types of orders (listed below) we already have to process and serve, effective February 6, 2024, until further notice, the Kitsap County Sheriff's Office will not be accepting process service requests for the following document type (exception for individuals in-custody at the Kitsap County Jail and stationed on Kitsap County Military bases):

  -Small Claims
  -Summons
  -Petitions
  -Complaints
  -Order to Show Cause
  -Family Law (Parenting Plans, etc.)
-Declarations (not related to Protection Order)
  -Notice of Hearings

Those needing service for these court documents may seek service through private process servers or a disinterested party over the age of 18 years old.

We appreciate your patience and understanding during this temporary moratorium.  We will provide updated information as soon as we can resume service for these types of orders.
