Location and Hours

  • 7791 NE Ecology Road, Kingston, WA 98346

  • Wednesday - Monday, 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. (Closed Tues.)

  • Closed New Year's Day, Memorial Day, July 4th, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas Day, at 2 p.m. Christmas Eve

Restrictions and Other Information

  • No waste or recyclables from businesses

  • No tipping from dump trucks or trailers. All waste must be unloaded by hand.

  • See drop-down list below for restricted materials

  • Facility has stairs in recycling area for cardboard, glass, and appliance containers. Lifting required for all recycling containers.

Fees, Payment, Accepted Items

  • Fees can be paid using cash, check, Visa, or MasterCard. Cardholders must have valid ID. Make checks payable to "KCPW" and have valid ID. Write drivers license number and phone number on check.

  • Facility charges by volume. For lowest fee possible, break large items into smaller pieces.

32 gallon can = 1 can

45 gallon can=1.5 cans

64 gallon can = 2 cans

96 gallon can = 3 cans

​$2.50 for each additional can (tax included)

​Large household appliances

Must be empty.

Refrigerators, freezers, air conditioners, dehumidifiers, water coolers, washers, dryers, stoves, ovens, dishwashers, water heaters, trash compactors. See all recycling locations for these appliances.

No commercial appliances accepted.

​Unsecured/uncovered load fee

Required by RCW 46.61.655 and Kitsap Code 9.18.010. Law enforcement can also issue fines.

​$10 per unsecured load


 Accepted household recyclables

Recyclables must be empty, clean, and dry. Recyclables must be loose (not bagged). No bags. shredded paper.

​Wash to remove food residue. Reattach screw caps, but put other lids in trash. Labels OK.

​Corrugated cardboard

​Dry and flat. Corrugated cardboard has a wavy middle layer.

​Glass bottles and jars

​Wash to remove food residue. Put caps in trash. Labels OK.

No other types of glass accepted in recycling.

Filtered cooking oil from households

​Filter at home to remove food particles.

Put empty oil containers in the trash, not the recycling.


 Accepted household hazardous items

Antifreeze from personal vehicles

​5 gallon limit. Put empty antifreeze containers in the garbage, not the recycling.

No oil from businesses.

Motor oil from personal vehicles

​​5 gallon limit. Put empty motor oil containers in the garbage, not the recycling.

No oil from businesses.

Large household appliances

Must be empty. ​$20 each.

Refrigerators, freezers, air conditioners, dehumidifiers, water coolers, washers, dryers, stoves, ovens, dishwashers, water heaters, trash compactors.

No commercial appliances accepted, even if used in a household.

Batteries

​Small household batteries (alkaline, button, or rechargeable) and vehicle batteries

Compact fluorescent lamps (CFLs) and fluorescent tubes

​Limit 10 CFLs and/or tubes per day, per person.               

Needles/syringes

​Limit 3 accepted containers per day. Seal in red sharps container, bleach bottle, detergent bottle, or 2-liter soda bottle. Label as BIOHAZARD.

No milk jugs, glass containers, bags, or small plastic bottles.
